After a foggy first two weeks due to National Championship-level matchups early in the season, the college football landscape is taking shape.

Ohio State, Penn State, and LSU have firmly established themselves as the one-two-three AP programs. After that, it’s a logjam that includes Oregon, Miami, Georgia, and Texas.

Then you have Florida, in a shock to no one, they’ve been bumped from the AP Top 25 after a monster upset at the hands of South Florida.

No. 12 Clemson Tigers at Georgia Tech Yellowjackets

  • Odds: Clemson -3
  • Total: 53.5
  • Time: 12 p.m. ET
  • Channel: ESPN

After being a College Football Playoff contender in the AP preseason Top 25, the Clemson Tigers have fallen all the way to No. 12 after a loss to LSU and, more importantly, after failing to cover a 29.5-point spread against Troy. Bottom line, the Tigers aren’t explosive this year. Quarterback Cade Klubnik, once among the favorites to win the 2025 Heisman, currently ranks 104th in Total Quarterback Rating (QBR), and their top receiver, Antonio Williams, is nursing a hamstring injury.

For all those reasons, oddsmakers have opened Clemson as just three-point favorites at unranked Georgia Tech, a shocking development for a preseason playoff contender.

If Georgia Tech QB Haynes King starts, he could cause a transitioning Clemson defense fits. In Week 1 versus Colorado, King only passed for 143 yards but ran for a whopping 156 with three touchdowns. He sat out in Week 2 with a lower-body injury, but is practicing this week.

Expect a tight, physical ACC clash. If Clemson finds its stride offensively, it can cover, but Tech’s confidence at home might keep this one as close as the spread suggests.

No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs @ No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers

  • Odds: Georgia -3.5
  • Total: 50.5
  • Time: 3:30 p.m. ET
  • Channel: ABC

What is brewing in Tennessee? We’ll finally get a clearer idea when they host the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs. The Volunteers turned some heads with big wins and big covers against one solid opponent and one cupcake; now they face a measuring stick. Georgia has beaten them eight straight times and went 7-1 against the spread. For those reasons, oddsmakers still couldn’t give Tennessee the edge at home – they’ll have to prove it.

Unfortunately, Tennessee is missing two of its top corners, Jermod McCoy and Rickey Gibson, due to injury. This could allow junior QB Gunner Stockton and No. 1 receiver Zachariah Branch to fly high on Saturday.

Tennessee, in turn, is hoping for an energized Knoxville crowd to ignite their defense and emerging quarterback Joey Aguilar. Aguilar has yet to throw an interception and has completed 66.1% of his passes.

No. 18 South Florida Bulls vs. No. 5 Miami Hurricanes

  • Odds: Miami -17.5
  • Total: 56
  • Time: 4:30 p.m. ET
  • Channel: The CW

Can the Bulls continue their march to be Florida’s dominant program? After upsetting No. 13-ranked Florida, we get an even bigger Sunshine State cousin to face – No. 5 Miami. Oddsmakers aren’t nearly as confident, opening South Florida as +17.5 underdogs entering Hard Rock Stadium. But these are the same oddsmakers that made them +18.5 ‘dogs at Florida last week.
In that game, South Florida set the tone early, keeping Florida scoreless in the first half with an aggressive defense that had seven tackles for loss, an interception, and a safety. The only cause for concern is the penalties, nine flags for 75 yards, which almost cost the Bulls the game. They can’t make the same mistakes against Miami, a squad who are confident and efficient behind the experienced arm of Senior QB Carson Beck.

Florida Gators vs. No. 3 LSU Tigers

  • Odds: LSU -9.5
  • Total: 49
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
  • Channel: ABC

Florida had their chance to build up confidence before entering Tiger Stadium, but it blew it. Now they face a stifling LSU defense and open as 9.5-point underdogs.

What makes this matchup scarier is that South Florida’s defense was able to shut down Florida for a half, and now they face an LSU squad that has allowed only 17 points combined.

That said, the Tigers haven’t been efficient on offense either. In Week 2, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs frustrated QB Garrett Nussmeier on numerous occasions, forcing a turnover, three field goals made, and three punts – hardly a dominant offensive performance for a No. 3 squad facing a cupcake opponent.

While LSU has the 4-1 ATS record in the last five meetings, Florida has the most recent victory. They defeated No. 22 LSU 27-16 as unranked, +7.5, homedogs.
