UFC 299 goes down on Saturday, March 9th, and many are calling it one of the best main cards in years. While UFC 300 is just around the corner, many of the big matchups are happening on the UFC 299 card.

O’Malley (-285) vs Vera (+225)
At UFC 299, ”Suga” Sean O’Malley and Marlon “Chito” Vera will square off for the second time. It’s a bantamweight title fight with some history to it too.
It was Chito who took the first match, way back in 2020 at UFC 252. He handed Suga the first and only loss of his career in the UFC. Which means Suga has had a pretty sweet run since then. O’Malley is the favorite here, coming in at 17-1-0, while Vera has a 21-8-1 record.
O’Malley has nine first-round finishes – that’s half of his total fights and a pretty solid reason why he’s favored. Even more impressive? 12 of his 17 wins have come by knockout. His striking is simply savage, and he has a significant reach advantage over Chito. Suga’s last fight was an impressive TKO over Aljamain Sterling in August 2023, taking him down just 51 seconds into the second round.
The Ecuadorian Vera won his last fight back in August too, taking the decision over Pedro Munhoz. Chito is a grappler, having won eight of his fights by submission. If he wants to take the title from O’Malley, he’ll need to get him on the ground early.
Poirier (+176) vs Saint Denis (-215)

With a 29-8-0 record, he’s nearing 40 UFC fights in his career. How does all this experience affect this UFC 299 odds? Doesn’t help in this matchup – he’s still an underdog at +135.
The Frenchman Benoît Saint Denis comes into this Lightweight bout with a 17-1-0 record, and has wins in his last five fights, including a first-round TKO over Matt Frevola just four months ago. That fight earned Performance of the Night honors for Saint-Denis. Saint-Denis is currently ranked 12th in the UFC lightweight rankings, while Poirier is at #3.
The 35-year-old Poirier last fought in July 2023, getting KO’d by Justin Gaethje. Several oddsmakers and fight fans think that UFC 299 might be very close to The Diamond’s last fight. After that loss to Gaethje, Poirier said, “I don’t know what I’m fighting for”.
Bettors considering the UFC 299 odds might read that two ways: either he has regained his purpose for UFC 299, or he’s lost confidence.
Holland (-136) vs Page (+111)
The #13 welterweight Kevin Holland takes on England’s Michael Page in this UFC 299 Main Card event. Holland is 25-10-0 in his career, including 15 wins by knockout and 12 first-round finishes. He lost his most recent fight to Jack Della Maddalena in September 2023, but it was a split decision.
Page, meanwhile, is currently unranked in the UFC welterweight division. But don’t let that fool you. At age 36, the Englishman has been in the fighting game for a while – just not in the UFC. He’s been a Bellator fighter for the past 10 years.
He’s 21-2-0 in his MMA career, but UFC 299 in Miami will be his first Ultimate Fighting Championship fight. He’s no stranger to high-pressure fights, though – Page has won 10 kickboxing championships in his career, starting at the age of 12.

Burns (+135) vs Della Maddalena (-165)
Gilbert Burns, from Brazil, has a 22-6-0 UFC record. The Australian, Jack Della Maddalena, has 10 fewer fights under his belt, with a 16-2-0 record.
Those 16 wins are the most recent of his career though. That’s right – after two losses to start his UFC career, Della Maddalena has won 16 straight matches, including his most recent win over Holland at UFC Fight Night 227. He hasn’t lost a fight since 2016. His last two fights have been close calls though, as both were decided by split decision. Maybe the time is ripe for his winning streak to come to an end?
Burns lost his most recent bout back in May 2023 to Belal Muhammad. A month before that loss, though, Burns beat the OG BMF Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision in a marathon match. He’s got the endurance to hang with Della Maddalena, and he’s #4 in the welterweight division. Della Maddalena is currently sitting at #11, since he’s relatively new to the UFC.
This welterweight battle is a classic puncher versus grappler matchup – Della Maddalena has scored 11 of his 16 wins by knockout, while 9 of Burns’ wins have come by way of submission.
Yan (-115) vs Yadong (EVEN)
In another bantamweight match on the UFC 299 card, #4 Petr Yan faces Song Yadong, who’s currently ranked 7th in the division. The Russian Yan is 16-5-0 while Yadong is 21-7-0. Yan has held the UFC bantamweight belt previously, losing it to Aljamain Sterling due to an illegal knee decision. Also notable is Yan’s 2022 loss to Suga Sean O’Malley via split decision – many fans and media thought Yan should have been declared the winner. Yadong has four Performance of the Night awards and a Fight of the Night to go along with them. In other words, he’s a battler who does not quit. With nine of his 21 wins by knockout, he can also finish fights on his terms.
While the UFC 299 odds are leaning Yan’s way, this fight looks to be a close one. Bovada’s also got odds for all the fights on the Preliminary Card, with a big matchup in the women’s flyweight division and a men’s heavyweight battle too.
