UFC Freedom 250 Betting Preview: Odds, Fight Card & Where to Bet

UFC FREEDOM 250

A title fight on the South Lawn of the White House is something nobody ever expected to see this millennium. That’s more of an 1800s, Abraham Lincoln kind of thing.

But the idea was announced in 2025 and confirmed months later. On June 14, 2026, one of the most unique events in combat sports history will take place in Washington, D.C.: UFC Freedom 250.

The card features two championship bouts, headlined by undefeated lightweight king Ilia Topuria against interim champion Justin Gaethje.

Bovada’s UFC Specialist Julio Hazeldon believes the matchups and added prestige of the location, could make this one of the biggest UFC events in a long time.

“The betting markets are expected to draw massive action from both hardcore MMA bettors and casual fans looking to wager on the historic occasion,” he said. “This already feels less like a standard pay-per-view and more like a once-in-a-generation spectacle.”

To ensure you’re ready to dive into all of Bovada’s UFC Freedom 250 odds, we provide this UFC 250 White House betting preview with insights from Bovada’s very own UFC Specialist and oddsmakers.

What is UFC Freedom 250, and Why the White House?

UFC Freedom 250 is a one-off event created as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. The idea was first announced by President Donald Trump on July 3, 2025, confirmed by UFC CEO Dana White on August 29, and made official during the UFC 326 broadcast on March 7, 2026.

The event takes place on Flag Day, June 14, which also coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday. UFC officials expect roughly 4,300 invited guests, many of them military personnel, inside the South Lawn venue, while more than 85,000 fans are expected to gather at The Ellipse for a free public viewing experience. The event will be streamed live on Paramount+ and CBS.

Under standard UFC rules, the two championship bouts at UFC Freedom 250 will be contested over five rounds, while the remaining five fights on the card are scheduled for three rounds. Each round lasts five minutes, with a one-minute rest between rounds. If a fight is not finished by knockout, submission, or referee stoppage, it goes to the judges’ scorecards for a decision.

For MMA bettors, the significance is simple. Two championship fights, a historic setting, worldwide attention, and a full slate of UFC odds available for those looking to bet on UFC Freedom 250 at Bovada.

Main Event: Topuria vs. Gaethje, Lightweight Title

Ilia Topuria enters as the obvious favorite, but anyone who’s placed a nickel on UFC odds knows Justin Gaethje’s aggressive style creates opportunities few opponents can match. His willingness to engage in chaos has made him one of the most dangerous underdogs in UFC history. Hazeldon revealed that early wagering on this bout has spawned a betting battle between sharp and public bettors.

“All the early sharp money has been on Gaethje at +450, the public money has been piling into the -650 favorite with 96% of the wagers so far,” Hazeldon said.

“This is already shaping up to be one of the most heavily bet UFC main events of the year.”

Topuria has been one of the most dominant champions in the sport. Currently undefeated at 17-0, he captured the vacant UFC lightweight title with a first-round KO of Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 on June 28, 2025. Before moving up to lightweight, “El Matador” already claimed featherweight gold, becoming the first fighter in UFC history to win championships in two divisions while staying undefeated.

Then you have Gaethje, one of the most entertaining fighters of his generation. “The Highlight” carries a 27-5 record and earned the interim lightweight title by defeating Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324 after Topuria took time off for personal and legal matters. The UFC decided to allow both to keep their title and settle the issue with a unification bout. This is Gaethje’s third attempt to capture the undisputed lightweight championship after previous losses to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira.

“Topuria has the cleaner technical game and the confidence of an unbeaten record,” Hazeldon explained. “But Gaethje’s pressure, power, and willingness to turn fights into chaos make him a dangerous underdog in a five-round environment. “

Whether you trust Topuria’s perfect record or believe Gaethje can finally finish the job, if you’re looking to dig into this historic event, a bet on Topuria vs Gaethje at Bovada is the best bang for your buck you’re going to get.

Co-Main Event: Pereira vs. Gane, Interim Heavyweight Title

Alex Pereira has a chance to make history on historic ground.

Already a UFC champion in multiple divisions, Pereira now moves up to heavyweight for an interim title fight against former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane. If Pereira wins, he’ll accomplish something no fighter has achieved before, capturing UFC championships across three weight classes.

“Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane could become the most fascinating betting matchup on the card,” Hazeldon said. “Pereira remains one of the scariest knockout artists in combat sports, but Gane’s movement and technical kickboxing create a difficult stylistic puzzle over five rounds.”

Having two fighters who dominate standup in opposite ways has made this a coin-flip matchup for oddsmakers. This could shift player focus to other betting options.

“Expect props markets to attract major interest here,” Hazeldon explained. “Especially knockout and under-round totals, because neither man is likely to spend much time wrestling if the fight stays competitive early. “

That said, Hazeldon shared that the early numbers still have the public picking Pereira to win, with 77% of wagers on the veteran at -112.

If you’re looking to parlay some more matchups with the main events, Hazeldon provides feedback on the rest of the card.

On Sean O’Malley vs. Aiemann Zahabi

“O’Malley is expected to attract heavy public money against Zahabi, already attracting 90% of the bets.”

On Mauricio Ruffy vs. Michael Chandler

“Ruffy versus Chandler has all the ingredients of a ‘Fight of the Night’ war that could end suddenly at any moment.”

On public betting throughout the event

“Public bettors are likely to chase finishes throughout the card given the outdoor setting, the massive atmosphere, and the UFC’s clear desire to turn Freedom Fights 250 into a highlight-reel event from start to finish.”

Other Undercards

“Bo Nickal vs. Kyle Daukaus may be Nickal’s toughest test yet as the undefeated wrestling prospect continues climbing the middleweight ranks.”

“Diego Lopes vs. Steve Garcia features two aggressive featherweights capable of ending the fight at any moment.”

“Derrick Lewis vs. Josh Hokit brings heavyweight power to the spotlight, with Lewis continuing his role as one of the division’s most dangerous knockout artists.”

Special Bets and Prop Markets

Picking a fighter just to win is always fun, but that only scratches the surface when betting on mixed martial arts. UFC Freedom 250 offers plenty of options for bettors who want to go beyond simply picking a winner.

Method-of-victory bets let fans back a knockout, submission, or decision outcome, while round betting allows wagers on exactly when a fight will end. There are also odds on whether a bout will go over or under a certain number of rounds, as well as combination bets that pair the winning fighter with the round and method of victory. “Will the fight go the distance?” could be a popular wager on several of the featured bouts, especially given the contrasting styles and finishing ability found throughout the card.
