Baltimore Ravens (+130) at Kansas City Chiefs (-150)
As the reigning Super Bowl champions, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to win yet another Super Bowl title.
League MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are standing in their way for the first NFL game of Week 1.
The odds for Chiefs vs Ravens currently have the Chiefs as 3-point favorites. Given their home-field advantage, all the momentum as the current NFL champs, and the addition of speedy rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy, KC might be looking to blow the game open early. If things get tight late in the game, Mahomes can always rely on TE Travis Kelce for a clutch TD.
The Ravens’ NFL odds heading into the season put them in the top 5 to win the Super Bowl and top 3 to win the AFC, as such, they shouldn’t be taken lightly. Especially now that Jackson has four-time Pro Bowler Derrick Henry with him in the backfield.
Green Bay Packers (+130) vs Philadelphia Eagles (-150)
In a game of firsts – first Friday night NFL game, first game being played in Brazil, first game of the season – the NFL odds for the Packers against the Eagles are packed with possibilities.
The Packers ended the previous season with a strong finish, driven by QB Jordan Love. Over his last 7 games of the season, Love threw 18 touchdowns and only one interception, culminating in a significant 48-32 playoff victory over the Cowboys.
The Eagles added RB Saquon Barkley in the offseason to boost an offense already stacked with QB Jalen Hurts and WR A.J. Brown. This could add fuel to the Over bets, with the totals currently at 49.
But which Eagles team will show up in Sao Paolo? The team that started last season 10-1, or the one that ended the year going 1-6 before losing to Tampa Bay in the playoffs?
Arizona Cardinals (+230) at Buffalo Bills (-280)
The NFL odds for the game between the Cardinals and Bills offer one of the bigger point spreads and differences in moneylines heading into Week 1.
But is there a chance that the underdog Cardinals can surprise fans and bettors? They scored top prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. in the draft, while RBs James Conner and rookie Trey Benson can both play. Plus, QB Kyler Murray is healthy and can create problems for a Bills’ D that is without star linebacker Matt Milano indefinitely.
Meanwhile, the Bills lost their top wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and didn’t replace him with equal talent. They do have Pro Bowl RB James Cook and of course, there’s Josh Allen, the All-Pro QB who can win games with his arm and his legs.
Then again, the Cardinals allowed 31.6 points per game last season, so the Bills’ depleted offense might still be enough to carry them to a Week 1 win.
Los Angeles Rams (+155) at Detroit Lions (-180)
The Detroit Lions are at the top of many preseason lists to make it to the Super Bowl this year, and they get to start off the new year with an old familiar foe.
Ex-Lion Matthew Stafford, the Rams’ QB, takes LA into noisy Ford Field to try to avenge last season’s 24-23 loss to the Lions in the Wild Card round.
Along with Stafford comes a healthy Cooper Kupp, who will take some of the attention away from fellow WR Puka Nacua, who led the team in receiving last year.
The Rams lost their legendary DE Aaron Donald in the offseason, a void that the Lions will hope to exploit in this Sunday Night Football matchup with a loaded offense that came within a few minutes of reaching the Super Bowl last season.
QB Jared Goff, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, TE Sam LaPorta, and a host of other weapons give the Lions the edge when it comes to their NFL odds this weekend.
New York Jets (+160) at San Francisco 49ers (-185)
NFL football fans have had to wait an extra year to see future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers in action with his new team, after he went down for the season on his opening drive last year.
Awaiting him are the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, who will be hungry to get back to the Super Bowl after last year’s loss in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Niners are favored because most of their championship-caliber team is back and the Jets finished last year at 7-10. But San Fran may only be a 3.5-point favorite because RB Christian McCaffrey is hobbling and WR Brendan Aiyuk missed all of training camp.
If you’re considering the Totals, the Over at 43 could be enticing. Rodgers is supported by standout players such as RB Breece Hall, WR Garrett Wilson, and newly acquired wide receivers Mike Williams and Allen Lazard.
No matter who you like in this opening Monday night matchup, Bovada has all the odds and props you need for the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.
