As autumn approaches, we find ourselves firmly planted in the heart of college football season. Week 6 was packed with a number of great NCAA matchups and the action on the field did not disappoint. The gridiron saw plenty of electrifying moments as college football fans got to witness a number of epic performances from some of the top quarterbacks in the country.

In an NCAA season already marked by its unpredictability, Week 6 proved to be a captivating chapter in the story of college football. Amidst the backdrop of passionate fans tailgating and stadiums echoing with spirited fight songs, the college quarterbacks of Week 6 carved their own legacies. From the heartland to the coastlines, these young men showcased their talents, leaving audiences in awe and craving more.

10. Jalen Milroe – Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama has had some difficulties with the quarterback position this season, so it deserves a mention when they produce an explosive passing performance. That was the case in Week 6, as sophomore quarterback Jalen Milroe threw for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns on 21 of 33 passing in a 26-20 win over Texas A&M. This was the best game of the college quarterback’s young career and it keeps Alabama in the hunt for a spot in this year’s College Football Playoffs.
9. Jacob Zeno – UAB Blazers
Milroe wasn’t the only Alabama quarterback to show out in Week 6, as UAB junior Jacob Zeno had an outstanding performance in his team’s 56-35 win over USF. Zeno completed over 75% of his passes for the second straight game, going 19 of 25 for 353 yards and 4 touchdowns through the air. This AAC program doesn’t get much national media attention, but that could change if Zeno keeps playing at this level.
8. Noah Fifita – Arizona Wildcats
Playing in only his second game as his team’s starting quarterback, Arizona freshman Noah Fifita gave the 9th-ranked USC Trojans all they could handle. Playing in his home state of California, Fifita made a number of excellent throws throughout the game and finished with an impressive 303 yards and 5 touchdowns on 25 of 25 passing. While the Wildcats ended up losing the game in triple-overtime, Fifita gave Arizona fans a reason to be optimistic about the team’s future.

7. Caleb Williams – USC Trojans
Even when Williams has an off-game, he’s still good enough to dominate his NCAA competition. That’s exactly what happened during Week 6 of the college football season, as USC won a triple-overtime thriller versus Arizona, 43-41. Despite throwing for only 219 yards and 1 touchdown on 14 of 25 passing, Williams willed his team to victory with an additional 41 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. The Trojans star passer will soon be playing in the NFL, but for now fans should simply enjoy his brilliance at the college level.
6. Jayden Daniels – LSU Tigers
Week in and week out, Jayden Daniels continues to deliver great passing performances for LSU. While the Tigers have already lost twice this season, that didn’t slow Daniels down in their Week 6 matchup with Missouri; the athletic senior was an efficient 15 of 21, picking up 259 yards and 3 touchdown passes along the way. He also managed to rush for an additional 130 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
5. Carson Beck – Georgia Bulldogs
Consider that he’s the starting quarterback for the No. 1 team in the nation, we haven’t heard Carson Beck’s name mentioned much this season. That changed in Week 6, as Beck led the defending national champions to a resounding victory over 20th-ranked Kentucky. In one of his best performances this year, Beck threw for 389 yards and 4 touchdowns on 80% passing (28 of 35). Georgia will need more where that came from if they want to repeat as national champions.
4. DJ Uiagalelei – Oregon State Beavers
Currently ranked 15th in the country, Oregon State owes much of their success this season to starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. Going up against Cal in Week 6, Uiagalelei balled out to the tune of 275 yards and 5 touchdowns on 19 of 25 passing. Combined with his team’s huge upset over Utah in their previous game, Uiagalelei has Oregon State trending in the right direction and making some real noise in the Pac-12.

3. E.J. Warner – Temple Owls
You likely never heard of E.J. Warner before Week 6, but that may have changed after the Temple quarterback lit up the stat sheet in a big way. Facing off against UTSA in an AAC Conference matchup, the sophomore signal-caller through a staggering 65 pass attempts, completing 42 of them for 472 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air. While the Owls ended up losing that game, Warner’s passing performance deserves some praise.
2. Drake Maye – North Carolina Tar Heels
With North Carolina improving to 5-0 in the ACC standings, the Tar Heels are now ranked 12th in the nation. Much of that success is due to the leadership of quarterback and native son, Drake Maye. The North Carolina-native went off in Week 6 versus Syracuse, throwing for 442 yards and 3 touchdowns while completing 33 of 47 pass attempts. The sophomore picked up 55 more yards and another score with his legs, leading UNC to the 40-7 win.
1. Dillon Gabriel – Oklahoma Sooners
Facing off against Texas in a prime time Big 12 matchup, Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel delivered one of his best performances of the season as he guided Oklahoma to a massive upset over third-ranked Texas. Gabriel threw for 285 yards and a score on 23 of 38 passing, while also adding 113 yards and a score on the ground in an all-around stellar performance by the senior quarterback. The 34-30 victory lifted the Sooners to fifth in the country and lowered Gabriel’s Heisman Trophy odds to +1400.
