Spain (+150)

The Spanish soccer team has had a smooth run to the final, with pundits most often using the words “class” and “complete team” to describe them.

How smooth? Despite playing big-time teams like France, Italy, Croatia, and Germany, the Spaniards have not had to go to penalty kicks even once during the tournament. They’ve scored a tournament-best 13 goals and have allowed only 4 on their way to the Euro 2024 Final.

In terms of recent history, Spain last won the World Cup in 2010, and they won back-to-back Euros in 2008 and 2012. They also reached the semifinals in the most recent European Championships in 2020 but lost to Italy on penalties.

The Euros odds for Spain this year seem to improve after every match. They don’t have any holes in their lineup and control the ball 57% of the time.

Without the legion of superstars that filled the roster for La Roja 12-15 years ago, they’ve had to rely on a complete team approach. But there are still players who regularly stand out and are ones to watch as Spain takes the field against England on Sunday.

Lamine Yamal – with his 17th birthday a day before the final – is quickly on his way to super-stardom, with comparisons (no pressure, kid) to Lionel Messi already. Yamal’s goal against France in the semifinals will go down as possibly the goal of the tournament, and he’s a threat almost every time he touches the ball. He also leads the Euros in assists, even though he might be the only player who still needs to ask his parents if he can borrow the car.

Rodrigo Hernandez, aka Rodri, has been called “the best midfielder in the world by far” by legendary coach Pep Guardiola. He runs the Spanish team like a well-tuned engine. He’s honed his craft playing in the Premier League for Manchester City, and many think he could have won the Ballon d’Or as the European Footballer of the Year last season.

England (+230)

The Three Lions will be playing in just their third Euro finals ever, and they’ve never won the ultimate game. At Euro 2020, they were runner-up against Italy, but that’s the closest they’ve come.

England’s road to the final was bumpy at times but they prevailed. Their semi-final match versus the Netherlands was won by a last-minute goal, avoiding the penalty kicks curse that they’ve been under for many years. Gareth Southgate’s squad also needed some help to score the tying goal earlier in the game, with Harry Kane being awarded a penalty by VAR that is going to be debated for a while yet.

The English are 7-4 in goals scored/against in the tournament, a stark contrast to Spain’s 13-4. England will need to rely on some of their stars to find the net if they want to boost their odds at the Euros and have any chance against Spain.

Jude Bellingham, though he was relatively quiet in the last few games, is a real scoring threat that Spain will need to contend with. His spectacular bicycle kick in extra time saved England in the Round of 16, and he’s a solid playmaker. Bellingham is only 21 but his experience as a top player for Real Madrid means he’s ready for big game pressure.

With the most goals in England’s international football history, Kane still has a nose for the net and could improve the Euros odds for his squad. With four goals, Kane was just one away from claiming the Golden Boot at Euro 2020 and he hasn’t lost too much of his touch.

Ollie Watkins was the player of the match in their semi-final win, mainly because of his clutch goal in the 90th minute to put his country into the finals. He’s another threat to score at any moment and might come in as a sub for another shot at glory.

Additional Bets

For fans of the “other” type of football where points are scored every few minutes with touchdowns and field goals, soccer can seem a little too slow in comparison.

But the Euros odds at Bovada offer plenty of ways to spice up the action.

With over 135 ways to wager (and counting) on Sunday’s Euro 2024 final, there’s a bet for everyone to get into the game.

Player Of The Tournament

The UEFA Player of the Tournament is still up for grabs, with Yamal leading the Euros odds at +170. If you think the moment might be too big for the 17-year-old, Rodri is next up at +300 and Bellingham (+600) might yet again rise to the occasion.

If you’re looking for safer picks, the UEFA Young Player of the Tournament is another way to play, and Yamal (-900) leads the brat pack by a wide margin.

Prop Bets

Euros prop bets are available in almost every facet of the game. They include a player to be shown a card during the game, with Dani Carvajal (+160) and Nacho (+160) being the favorites (not the ref’s favorites, mind you). Or you can go with the team to score first, with Spain favored (-105) and England offering a bigger payout (+130).

And if you’re using your head, you might choose someone like Harry Kane (+1100) when betting on which player will score on a header. Kane is tied for the all-time lead in headed goals in the Premier League.

Bovada’s got so many ways to score for the Euro 2024 Final, before the opening kick and during every minute of the match until the final whistle.
