The Copa America is a soccer tournament that brings together the top 16 nations from the Americas for a tournament that rivals the Euros and the World Cup in terms of talent and glory.
The 2024 Copa runs from June 20th until July 14th and features Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Brazil’s Vinicius Junior and many more soccer stars.

ARGENTINA +185
With one of the world’s best players, in Lionel Messi, and a staggering 22 players who won the most recent World Cup on their roster, the reigning Copa America champion Argentina is at the top of everyone’s list.
Messi is still in great form playing for Inter Miami these days, even though he’ll turn 37 years old during the opening stage of Copa America. His supporting cast includes Emiliano Martinez, the keeper who came up big in the 2022 World Cup-winning shootout and has only allowed two goals in 11 international matches since then.
Along with top attacker Angel Di Maria and a solid defense, Argentina has lost just two of its last 55 matches. All other teams in the Copa will need to find a way to cope.
BRAZIL +200
Brazil won the Copa America in 2019, but with Neymar watching from the sidelines, Brazil finds itself in the unusual spot of not being the favored nation when it comes to Copa America odds this time around.
They are still elite though – Vinicius Junior is regularly mentioned among the top players in the world and many soccer pundits are raving about 17-year-old Endrick as a potential superstar.
URUGUAY +500
Another 37-year-old Inter Miami star is hoping to harness his earlier glory as one of the world’s best strikers when Uruguay takes the field at the Copa America. Luis Suarez was recently confirmed on the Uruguay roster, giving a boost to their Copa America odds and placing them in top-three territory.
Suarez helped Uruguay win the Copa title in 2011 and is the country’s all-time leading scorer. His striking can still be lethal and gives Uruguay a chance in any match.
COLOMBIA +1100
Currently on a 22-match winning streak, Colombia could provide the top teams some serious concerns heading into the Copa America.
A recent 5-1 thumping of the USA showed the world that they mean business. Although they don’t have any high-profile stars, they play a great team game and could surprise some countries. It’s equally surprising that their Copa America odds are currently the same as the USMNT’s odds. This may have something to do with their similar FIFA rankings, but many, including the impartial Elo Ratings, rate Colombia as a top-10 team in the world.
Los Cafeteros, as Colombia is nicknamed, might just grind their opponents down with their attacking style and get something brewing for their fans late into the tournament.
USA +1100
Will home-field advantage make a difference for the USA? Of the 48 times the Copa America has been played, it’s only been hosted outside of South America twice.
The USMNT will need this extra boost from the home boosters if they want to raise the Copa America trophy in mid-July. They haven’t won against a top-20-ranked team outside of the CONCACAF group in over five years, though they did just hold Brazil to a draw in the final match before the tournament.
The USA also has some star power playing in the top leagues in Europe, with players like Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie ready to make an impact on their home turf.
ECUADOR +1500
A Group B victory should be in the cards for Ecuador at the very least, given their weaker opponents in Jamaica and Venezuela.
They will need to rely on top international players like Moises Caicedo (Chelsea) and Piero Hincapie (Leverkusen) if they want to go much farther than that, however.
And if you’re looking for a sleeper pick with signs of potential, Ecuador narrowly lost to powerhouse Argentina in a Copa America friendly tune-up match earlier this month, though Lionel Messi only came into that match in the second half.

MEXICO +1500
As co-hosts of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, Mexico is looking to the Copa America to begin tuning up their squad so they can peak in a few years’ time.
With that in mind, head coach Jaime Lozano left off several veteran players from his Copa roster, opting to give some younger players much-needed experience under pressure.
What this means for Mexico’s 2024 Copa America odds is a ranking somewhat lower than expected. This is a team with passion and still plenty of experience to make a mark, however.
CHILE +3500
Chile is not often on most people’s radar when speaking of South American soccer elites, but they did win the Copa America in 2015 and 2016. For the 2024 Copa America, oddsmakers don’t give them much of a shot but they still have better odds than half of the bracket.
Chile’s top players are considered past their prime, including Alexis Sanchez at 35 and their top keeper Claudio Bravo, who’s a creaky 41 years old.
The upside is that La Roja are ranked far ahead of Peru and Canada, so there’s a good shot they’ll advance from the group stage.
PERU +6000
As runner-up and semi-finalists in their last two Copa Americas, respectively, Peru is ranked somewhat surprisingly low when it comes to Copa America odds.
They are not an easy opponent, with top players like Raul Ruidiaz, Luis Iberico and Oliver Sonne – each of whom is currently playing internationally and can have an impact on any game.
Watch for Peru’s effort and intensity to shine in their June 21st match versus Chile. Both teams have a mutual distaste for one another and their matches often produce fireworks, and the winner could go on to greater things in the tournament.
CANADA +7000
This is the very first appearance for Canada’s men’s team in the Copa America, and with it comes very long odds.
While many analysts don’t give the northernmost Copa America team much of a shot at winning the tournament, they have drawn some praise and could surprise a team or two in the opening round. Alphonso Davies is an elite player at the international level and might make the difference with a key goal or two.
While they’re in tough in Group A against teams like Argentina and Peru, the underdog Canadians should still be fun to watch.
