There are just two weeks of regular season action left to go in the NFL, with plenty on the line for many teams.

NFL Week 17 kicks off with two Christmas Day games, followed by more big matchups on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The best gift for football fans just keeps giving…

Let’s dig into our NFL Week 17 preview and give you a heads-up on how to look at the NFL odds for each key game.

Kansas City Chiefs (-145) at Pittsburgh Steelers (+125)

This is a great Christmas Day gift to NFL football fans.

The Chiefs lead the league with a 14-1 record and they’re a potential Super Bowl team. They’ve gotten some luck this season but looked impressive in a win last week over the Texans.

Plus, the recent addition of Hollywood Brown gives KC more weapons on offense, and Patrick Mahomes’ injury didn’t seem to be a factor as he scrambled at key moments in the Houston game – including the longest rushing TD of his career.

The Steelers, also a team punching above their weight this season, have scrapped their way to a playoff spot and a potential AFC North title. But they just lost badly to the Ravens, giving up key turnovers and 220 yards on the ground. And they’ll need to lick their wounds quickly as this Xmas game gives them just 5 days’ rest.

If you think KC will give it their all to clinch the #1 spot in the AFC, and Pittsburgh’s older QB Russell Wilson comes back to earth after a solid season so far, taking the Chiefs at a small spread of -2.5 could be the play, along with the Chiefs’ modest moneyline (-145).

All the NFL odds, props and parlays for the Christmas Day game between Kansas City and Pittsburgh are ready now at Bovada.

Baltimore Ravens (-220) at Houston Texans (+180)

Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry led the Ravens to their 10th win of the season last weekend, clinching a playoff spot in the process.

The Houston Texans also clinched their postseason ticket and won the AFC South with two games to spare, but between the two teams the Ravens look much stronger all around.

Will Houston write this game off, rest some starters against a tough Ravens squad and preserve some energy for January? It’s possible – they look locked in as the 4th seed in the AFC. Quarterback CJ Stroud, RB Joe Mixon, and WR Nico Collins are their main core, and they’ll need to be 100% for Wild Card Weekend.

The Texans losing their #2 wide receiver Tank Dell last weekend – out for the season – only adds to their need to protect their top offensive players.

If that happens, expect Jackson and Henry to run wild and possibly run up the score. They’re in the Top 5 in the NFL in points scored, rushing, and passing yardage and need this win to help take the AFC North title and a home playoff game.

Close to 300 bets are ready to play for the Ravens-Texans Christmas Day matchup.

Denver Broncos (+155) at Cincinnati Bengals (-180)

In the category of weaker teams that no one really wants to face in the NFL Playoffs, the Cincinnati Bengals must be at the top of the list.

QB Joe Burrow is having an outstanding year, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is leading the league in receiving, and role players like RB Chase Brown and Tee Higgins can break open for a huge play at any moment of a game.

It’s the Bengals defense that is their biggest weakness and might keep them out of a playoff spot. They’re 28th in points allowed and 29th in rushing yards allowed, the latter stat being a key one to keep in mind in these late December cold weather games, where rushing matters more than ever.

The Broncos, coming into the game on 10 days’ rest, need this win to secure a spot in the NFL Playoffs (yes, they could possibly play their way in with a W against the mighty Chiefs in Week 18, but they would be wise to not wait and take that risk).

But Denver’s strength is not on the ground. They’re 19th in the league in rushing and their leading RB Javonta Williams hasn’t even hit the 500-yard mark this season.

The Broncos’ D will need to play up to its fourth-best status in points allowed – a tough task against the league’s best passing team that desperately needs a win to stay alive.

If the weather cooperates, Burrow and the Bengals could cook. Keep an eye on the forecast and the Over, with the current O/U at 50 points. Denver can put up points too – they’re averaging 32 points per game over their last four games.

Atlanta Falcons (+180) at Washington Commanders (-220)

The Commanders and the Falcons can each clinch a postseason spot with a win in this huge NFC game, with both teams battling for the NFL Playoffs.

With rookie sensation Jayden Daniels leading the way, Washington enters the game with the decisive edge in the moneyline, currently at -220.

Football fans were treated to more magic from Daniels in the final two minutes last weekend, as he led the Commanders to the W over Philly with a 9-play, 57-yard scoring drive like a 10-year vet.

It’s the Washington defense that is the red flag for the followers of NFL odds everywhere. The Eagles still put up 33 points with their backup QB playing most of the game, and Washington’s D is 30th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and 18th in points allowed.

If Atlanta QB Michael Penix Jr. can improve on his solid debut performance last week, and top-tier RB Bijan Robinson carves up the not-very-commanding Washington defense, the Falcons might well punch their ticket to the postseason, or at least beat the current +4.0 spread.

Play 100’s of bets and props for the Falcons vs Commanders games now.

Detroit Lions (-195) at San Francisco 49ers (+165)

The Detroit Lions can win their final two games to clinch the NFC North and a first-round bye, or with a win in this game against the 49ers coupled with a Vikings loss.

TLDR: the Lions will be hungry for this Monday Night Football matchup.

Despite a ton of injuries on both sides of the ball, they still have enough offensive firepower to finesse their way to a win here. Especially since the Niners’ season is over – they were eliminated from playoff contention before they took the field last Sunday.

Detroit’s impressive 7-0 road record this year is another reason they could easily cover the current (kinda small) 3.5 spread. The Lions are also 1st in the league in points for and second in passing yards.

San Fran is entering the game with key players either out entirely or hobbled enough where it makes sense to rest them in what is a meaningless game for their entire team. Trent Williams and other top offensive lineman are on that list, as are Dre Greenlaw and Nick Bosa on the defensive side of the ball.

All this means the line and spread might move even more in Detroit’s favor, and for good reason.
